How does the program work?
Australian year 12 students can apply for up to five 课程s at the end of June. Rather than an ATAR, your application is based on your school’s recommendation. This recommendation can factor in your year 11 results, as well as other considerations.
If you don’t receive an offer for your dream 课程 through the 学校推荐计划, you will be re-assessed for a higher preference offer once your ATAR is released.
We will release offers from August through to early November, which will take the pressure off you during year 12.
What 课程s will I be able to apply for?
The program will be open to nearly all of our 课程s, including our new flexible double degrees, undergraduate degrees, associate degrees and pathway programs.
- Courses in Medical Radiation, Paramedicine and Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine work differently. Entry to these 课程s is very competitive, so an early offer is not available. However we still encourage you to apply as part of your 学校推荐计划 application.
You will be assessed for these preferences once your ATAR is released, and will not be assessed through the 学校推荐计划. You may still receive early offers to other preferences you have included.
We encourage you to apply for any other 课程s you’re interested in. Remember, you can apply for five in total.

Our program allows International year 12 students to apply for up to two of our 课程s. You’ll then receive a conditional offer, which will explain any special requirements you’ll have to meet as an international student.
Rather than an ATAR, your application is based on your school’s recommendation.
When your ATAR is released, you’ll be assessed for a number of our scholarships. This can help cover the costs of uni fees, accommodation, 和更多的.

The program is open to nearly all CRICOS registered 课程s. This includes undergraduate degrees, and associate degrees.
- Courses in Nursing and Medicine work differently. Entry to these 课程s is very competitive, so an early offer is not available. However we still encourage you to apply as part of your 学校推荐计划 application.
You will be assessed for these preferences once your ATAR is released, and will not be assessed through the 学校推荐计划. You may still receive early offers to other preferences you have included.
In the meantime, we encourage you to apply for any other 课程s you’re interested in. You can apply for two in total.

This program works as an alternate means of entry alongside the ATAR and the Certificate of Education.
We recommend you continue with your planned 课程 of study. Your ATAR may allow you to qualify for a greater range of study options. It will also ensure you’re are assessed for academic merit-based tuition scholarships.
Applicants must be:
- In year 12 in 2023
- Completing a Certificate of Education, or the 国际学士学位 (IB) at a High School or Secondary College
- Be intending to complete their final year of study, undertaking exams, where offered, for all chosen subjects
If you don’t meet the criteria for an early offer, you may be offered a pathway program. These will ensure you are well supported to complete your chosen bachelor’s degree in the same timeframe.
We will contact you to discuss your options after your application has been assessed.
Students apply online directly to the University of Tasmania via our eApplication portal.
Applications to the 学校推荐计划 open on the 29th of June.

You can select five preferences within the program. These can include any combination of 课程s that will be eligible for early offers and quota 课程s. However, quota 课程s are not applicable for an early offer.
You can only receive one offer at a time but you can then move new preferences above your current offer to be considered for another offer. Students can receive up to five offers in total.
As we recognise and respect your teachers’ insights into your learning, progress and achievements, they will help us provide the best overall evaluation, taking into account more than just formal assessments that would calculate your ATAR. Criteria for the program will include factors such as your Year 11 results, and an assessment of capabilities and the perspectives of those who have taught you most recently.
For some of our 课程s, there may be subjects that you need to study in school. These are called prerequisites. You’ll be advised in your offer letters if there are any prerequisite subjects for your chosen degree. If you aren't doing the required subject in Year 12, don't worry, we offer foundation units so you can catch up before you start.

If you’re applying for a 课程 such as Music, Fine Arts or Theatre and Performance, you may need to provide a portfolio or undertake an online audition. Your university contact will be in touch to discuss this.
The final offer round for 2024 applications is Thursday, 2nd November once your recommendation has been received from your school. If you’re not successful for your first preference, you will be considered for another preference or receive an offer to a pathway program.
If you do not receive an offer in this round, you will be automatically assessed based on your ATAR once this has been released.
Applications open 29 June and can be submitted until 6 October, and offers will continue to be released in rounds, up until 2 November 2023
- Round 1 applications close: 31 July
*Get your application in by 31 July to be eligible for a main round offer - Round 1 offers: 24-25 August
- Round 2 applications close: 1 September
- Round 2 offers: 28 September
- Final round applications close: 6 October
- Final Round offers: 2 November
It is possible to receive up to five (5) offers depending on your preferences in your application.
是的, you can accept multiple offers. This means you can secure your place in the 课程/s you’ve been offered, and then take your time to decide which 课程 you wish to enrol in later in December.
接受ing your offer is easy! Simply login to the application portal here. You offer/s will be waiting for you to accept.
After accepting an offer you will receive your UTAS login details, so keep these safe. You will be able to enrol in your units from mid-December, when we receive your Year 12 results - we will email you to let you know enrolments are open. If you have any conditions on your offer these will need to be met before you can enrol.
You’ll need to finish your year 12 studies. There may also be some conditions to offers, which your university contact will be able to discuss with you. You may also have conditions to pass specific subjects in Year 12 if your chosen degree has pre-requisites. This will be outlined in your offer letter.
From mid-December, after we receive your year 12 results, you'll be able to enrol in your units. We'll send you an email to let you know when enrolments are open.

是的. Deferrals are available on a request basis through the application portal. Not all 课程s offer a deferral, but if eligible it will show in the application portal.
They are valid for one year.
Due to Australian privacy laws, information about a student’s application through the Recommendation Program will not be disclosed to a third party without written and signed consent.
Applicants (year 12 students) can contact their university contact to request a ‘consent to release’ form. This must be completed by a parent/guardian, then signed by the student and returned to the University. This will then be stored on file and both the student and his or her nominees can discuss the application with the University.
If a parent/guardian is not listed as an authorised person on the application, unfortunately we will not be permitted to disclose any information.
Deadlines for 学校 to submit recommendations are;
- 11 August
- 15 September
- 20 October

是的, you’re automatically assessed for entry into the Catalyst Program when you apply to study with us and we will contact you to confirm your eligibility closer to semester start.

Applications for this 课程 are already open. Your offer will be based on your ATAR and you’ll need an IELTS or its equivalent of 7.0/7.0.
Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine
Applications for this 课程 are already open. Your offer will be based on your ATAR and you’ll need an IELTS of 6.5/6.5 or its equivalent – such as a successfully completing pre-tertiary in your Year 11/12 studies.

Criteria for the program will include factors such as your year 11 results, as well as an assessment of capabilities and the perspectives of your teachers. As an international student, you may need to meet other criteria relating to English. Your case manager will talk to you about this.
For some of our 课程s, there may be subjects that you need to study in school. These are called prerequisites. You’ll be advised in your offer letters if there are any prerequisite subjects for your chosen degree. If you aren't doing the required subject in Year 12, don't worry, we offer foundation units so you can catch up before you start.
